Which boat is right for families with children?

With children the trip should be above all relaxed and safe. Which boat fits best depends on the children's age and on how much you want to paddle yourselves.

Our recommendation: the pedal boat

For families with smaller children, the pedal boat is usually the best choice. It sits calm and stable in the water, hardly wobbles and you don't need to know how to paddle, you simply pedal comfortably with your feet. The children can sit safely while the adults provide the drive.

Our large pedal boats seat up to four or five people, so the whole family can go together.

Canoe for slightly older children

When the children are a bit older and like to pitch in, the canoe is a lovely option. Here you paddle together and really get moving, which older children often enjoy a lot. Up to three people fit.

What to watch for with children

  • Life jackets are included, just ask us on site.
  • Don't forget sunscreen, sun hats and enough to drink.
  • Choose calm weather: with a lot of wind it quickly gets tiring with children.
  • Better to start short, an hour is often enough for younger children.
