Light rain is no problem
A bit of drizzle doesn't make a boat trip unpleasant, on the contrary, it's often especially quiet on the lake then. With weatherproof clothing you can enjoy light rain in a relaxed way.
In a thunderstorm: get off the water at once
A thunderstorm is the only real danger. On open water you're especially exposed to lightning. If a storm is building, the point is to get back to shore in good time, better once too early than too late.
Keep an eye on the sky. If it darkens in the west or you hear thunder, head back. When in doubt, a quick call to us before you set off helps.
