How you steer
Most pedal boats are steered with a handle or lever: move it one way and the boat turns that way. On our boats we show you the handle just before you head out, so you know right away how it works.
Always think a little ahead when you steer. A pedal boat reacts fairly slowly, so take turns wide and start them early instead of pulling hard at the last moment. That keeps you calmly on course.
Tips for beginners
- ●Pedal steadily, a calm rhythm keeps the boat stable on its line.
- ●Steer early, the boat turns gently and needs a little lead time.
- ●Keep enough distance from other boats, jetties and the shore.
- ●Stay relaxed, even if it takes a moment, easy steering works best.
